Writing Made Simple Through Assemblies and Workshops
Introducing The Fiction Factory Author Visits & Workshops, an interactive author visit experience designed specifically for middle school students.
During a half-day program, we lead a high-energy, school-wide assembly followed by small-group writing workshops (up to 10 students each). These sessions are hands-on, engaging, and designed to help students generate original ideas, take creative risks, and leave feeling proud of their work.
Students don’t just listen - they actively participate, write, and share. By the end of the visit, they walk away with a Young Author Certificate and, more importantly, a stronger belief that their ideas matter, and they can write!

Cynthia Barbera is the author of Secrets from the Sky, the first book in The Youngest Arrivals series. The concluding novel, Beneath the Falling Sky, will be released in December 2026. She also co-authored Area 51: The Beginning.
